Ready for a home of your own?
reweaving homes are for women and families who have done the hard work and are ready for the next step. You can apply yourself or through your case manager or program. Our application is thorough because we want every placement to last.
Readiness benchmarks
What we look for
Not every benchmark applies to every applicant. Your track depends on your situation.
Stability record
At least 6 months with no program violations, confirmed by your house manager, shelter, or program director.
Recovery
At least 6 months of documented sobriety: program records, drug screens, or a letter from a counselor or sponsor.
Program completion
Completion of your treatment, domestic-violence, or reentry program, or proof you are in good standing.
Income plan
Employment, benefits, a housing voucher, or a written plan showing how you'll cover your share of rent and utilities.
Supervision compliance
If you're on probation or parole, a letter from your officer confirming compliance and approving the move.
Life skills
A budgeting, financial-literacy, or parenting class, or willingness to complete one through a partner program.
Support network
A case manager plus at least two references: employer, counselor, sponsor, faith leader, or program staff.
Safety plan
For survivors: a confidential safety plan made with your advocate. We never ask for details you aren't comfortable sharing.
Children's stability
For mothers: custody or guardianship documents and a school or childcare plan.
Documents
What to gather
You'll upload these securely after your first interview. Please don't email documents.
- Photo ID
- Program letter confirming 6+ months with no violations
- Sobriety documentation (recovery track)

What your home will cost
Rent you can actually afford
Your share of rent is set during your interview, based on your income. Our goal is that you pay no more than 30% of your income for rent and utilities combined.
Most housing programs use this same 30% standard for affordable housing.
- Your rent share: set from your verified income and household size
- Subsidy: the difference is covered by housing vouchers, partner programs, and reweaving sponsors
- Move-in costs: deposits and first month's rent may be covered through partner programs
- Your home: furnished and move-in ready at no cost to you
- Reviews: your share is reviewed if your income changes, so you're never stretched past what you can carry
